A cosy base for exploring Westport. It was in a central setting. Visited their restaurant Madden's Bistro couple of times. The service was great in that hotel.
-
Will be back if in the area. Moreover, free Wi Fi was available. Bistro not far from the hotel was a plus:)))
-
The staff was loyal, the breakfast was marvellous, everything was great. Furthermore, it had a public parking nearby. In the heart of the city, very convenient. We ordered lunch at Friends bistro, located minutes from the venue.

Staff were excellent, verty comfortable rooms and very clean.

Doesn't look great from the outside, but it was pleasantly nice inside with welcoming staff. The rooms were decent size with a fantastic modern bathroom. Great hotel to stay in, TV could be updated, but not a problem if your not wanting to watch anything. The entrance of the hotel is well kept with lots of photos of the region. Didn't eat there as it was within walking distance to the main street where you can enjoy an Irish meal. The hotel gives you free access to the local pools, this is a great add on to your stay.

I liked the cleaniness the staff and the location of the hotel. It is central to all areas ie Knock, Achill, Conemara, etc.
Its hard to put down what you didnt like without it being a com[paint in some form or another. The only thing I disliked about my stay was no sky channels available or teletex in our room.
-
The main thing was the peace and quiet even though it is on a main street. Also very clean and linen changed each day.
I would have to think hard. My T.V. was'n working but was fixed in no time.

Clew Bay is located close to every thing in Westport. You can easily walk to shopping, restaurants and pubs. Although the hotel has a lovely restaurant and bar, the staff was more than willing to point out the other great restaurants and pubs nearby. The room was clean and tastefully decorated, with a big, modern bathroom.

The hotel is a one of a kind, not a chain. It is family owned and everyone is very friendly. The location is in the city centre of Westport. Rooms with charming views of James street or the river are available. Gourmet meals or just a cappuccino are available in the bistro and bar. This was our second stay there and we plan to return next year.

excellent location staff that we met very pleasent.,however we feel 220euro was plenty to stay in a hotel that has no onsite leasure facilities, this was for room only,Having said this we thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful town and will return again. Was surprised to see you are still using conventional keys to get into rooms, one last little comment it would have been nice to have had the bed tidied up on the sat ,we love this and have got used to it in the Dublin hotels, all this said thanks

The location of the Clew Bay Hotel is ideal for exploring Westport and indeed Louisburgh, Croagh Patrick, Newport and Castlebar.
The car parking is not actually free as you have to purchase a ticket to exit the car park. This is costly when one is leaving and entering the carpark on a number of occasions during the day.

I ticked fair for 'value for money' as the first night we were in a room with an air condititioning generator or electricity generator outside our window and were awake from 4am. The room was small and was not as updated as the many hotels I stayed in throughout Ireland. We said it to the staff and were given a lovely comfortable larger room at the front of the hotel on Sat night and it was excellent. We also received a voucher for 1 night's stay in hotel that we can use from Sept to April 2011 so that made up for the first night's accommodation.
The room on Fri night beside generator. I would recommend the hotel to friends and recommend that they ask for a room in new wing.

Room was spacous, comfortable with lots of space for clothes. Excellant location. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Lighting poor in bedroom and ensuite, I wear contact lens and found it difficult to ensert them or apply make up because of the poor lighting. No extractor fan or it did not work in ensuite so everything steamed up when showering.
